Baked Onion Ring Crisps with Creamy Barbecue Dipping Sauce

(Gluten-Free)

Ingredients

Baked Onion Ring Crisps Ingredients
  • 2 medium onions sliced thin
  • 8 ounces shredded Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • Paprika for color if desired
Creamy Barbecue Dipping Sauce Ingredients
  • ¼ cup barbecue sauce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • Parsley to garnish

Method

Baked Onion Ring Crisps Instructions
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Cover the baking sheet with the shredded Parmesan, and spread out evenly.
  3. Using a very sharp knife, or better yet, a mandolin, slice the onions very thin, keeping them consistent in thickness. Place onion slices right next to each other on top of the cheese, but make sure they don’t overlap. To get crisp, all the moisture needs to cook out, and the thinner the slices are, the better.
  4. Brush tops of onion slices with olive oil. Then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and paprika (if desired).
  5. Bake for approximately 18 minutes or until golden. Watch closely because they’ll burn quickly at the end. Remove from oven and cool on pan for 8-10 minutes. Cut apart, and enjoy.
Creamy Barbecue Dipping Sauce Instructions
  1. Combine barbeque sauce with mayonnaise and mix until smooth. Sprinkle with parsley, and serve with onion crisps

Notes

Enjoy immediately because they will become less crispy as they cool.
