How do you make homemade Baked Beans

Bake Beans

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound bacon cooked, crumbled, and drained
  • 1 pound pork sausage cooked, crumbled, and drained
  • 1 tablespoon bacon fat
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 green pepper chopped
  • 2 (30 ounce) cans pork and beans
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup pineapple tidbits drained

Instructions
 

  • Grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan, and preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Fry bacon and sausage in large pan until almost cooked. (If the pan’s large enough, you can do both at the same time, or do them individually.) Drain all but 1 tablespoon of fat, and add onion and green pepper. Cook until beginning to get tender.
  • Add beans, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and pineapple, and stir until well combined. Pour into prepared baking dish, and cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake at 300 degrees for 3 hours, and then uncover. Bake an additional 30 minutes.
  • Serve immediately.
