Brownie Ingredients
  1. 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  2. ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  4. 2 cups sugar
  5. 1 teaspoon salt
  6. 4 large eggs, room temperature
  7. 1 tablespoon vanilla
Chocolate Buttercream Frosting Ingredients
  1. 3 cups powdered sugar
  2. ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  3. ¼ cup cream (half and half or milk)
  4. ¼ cup butter, softened
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla
  6. Pinch of salt
Brownie Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 9 x 13-inch baking pan with foil, and lightly coat with non-stick spray for baking.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, beat eggs and vanilla together with a fork. Set aside.
  4. In another large bowl, or stand mixer, combine melted butter and cocoa. Beat until smooth. Add flour mixture, and mix. Add egg mixture, and mix just until incorporated. Do NOT over-mix.
  5. Put batter into prepared pan, and spread evenly. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Pick inserted in center will come out clean. Let cool on a wire rack for 20 minutes, and then spread with frosting. The brownies will still be quite warm, and the frosting will partially melt.
