Easy Step-By-Step Instructions for Almond Cookies

Line baking sheets with silicone mats or parchment paper, and preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Homemade Almond Cookies

Whisk together
6 cups flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 ½ teaspoons salt

Cream together until light and fluffy:
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar

Add
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon almond extract
Beat 3-5 minutes more,

Thoroughly mix in
6 tablespoons cream or milk

Add dry ingredients to wet, and mix just long enough to combine.

Roll into 1 inch balls, and flatten with bottom of a glass.

Decorate tops with sliced almonds, and sprinkle with sparkling sugar or sea salt.  Try some of each, and see which you like best.
