Easy Step-By-Step Instructions for Peppermint Ice Cream Pie

Peppermint Ice Cream Pie

Place the following in fridge to soften for 1-2 hours.
1 ½ quarts peppermint ice cream

Ice Cream Pie

Crush
32 Oreo cookies (3 cups crumbs)

Melt
6 tablespoons butter

Swirl melted butter around a pie plate to grease sides and bottom.
Don’t melt butter in the pie plate unless you have time to allow it to cool completely. The crust must be thoroughly chilled before the ice cream is added.

Add crumbs to butter, and mix completely.

Press mixture up sides, and into bottom.

Chill to set.

CRUST INGREDIENTS

FILLING INGREDIENTS
  1. 1 ½ quarts peppermint ice cream
  2. Chocolate ganache or sauce, crushed peppermints, and whipped cream for garnish
CRUST DIRECTIONS
  1. Crush the cookies.
  2. Melt the butter, and then swirl it around a pie plate to grease sides and bottom.
  3. Don't melt butter in the pie plate unless you have time to allow it to cool completely. The crust must be thoroughly chilled before the ice cream is added.
  4. Mix the crumbs with the melted butter, and press into the bottom and sides of the pan.
  5. Chill to set.
FILLING DIRECTIONS
  1. Soften the ice cream and stir.
  2. Scoop the ice cream into the crust and smooth.
  3. Freeze several hours.
